This will probably be a new, recurring feature on this Blog. I suffer from an incurable condition called PMS. Mine is more severe than most. Once a month PMS takes over my brain. The easygoing Sheri is still there, but she gets slapped down whenever she tries to reason with the PMS Sheri. Here are some actual accounts of when PMS has taken over.
I saw the Bishop's wife at the Temple. She smiled at me and said, "It's so good to see you."
What's that supposed to mean? You think I don't come to the Temple often? Well I do.
While leaving the Temple Luke said,
"Do you want to go out to dinner?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because you're bugging me."
"How?"
"You know what you're doing."
Luke and I were sitting together on the couch, watching The Duchess...
"This movie makes me want to kick you in the balls."
Luke ran the stroller into my heels.
"OW!"
"I'm sorry."
"No you're not."
"I didn't do it on purpose."
"Yes you did!"
...I spent the next 10 minutes holding back tears because my husband deliberately rammed me with a stroller.
Each evening, after sunset, the PMS Sheri is exhausted and finally dies down. The easygoing Sheri is able to talk again. I apologize extensively to my sweet husband who has heroically born the brunt of this horrible condition, and together we laugh at PMS Sheri and how ridiculous she's been. And easygoing Sheri loves and appreciates her patient husband all the more.
Warning: This Blog may offend. Someone once described me as "straight from the school yard". It's true. I have the sense of humor and the wardrobe of a 13 year old boy. If you're looking for a blog that is thought provoking, clever or cute... move along.

Sheri's Secret Cold Remedy
We've all had nasty colds this week. I caught Kendal coping my secret technique for remedying my runny nose. (Secret: as in I try not to let Luke or the neighbors see me do this.)

I'm just not attracted to you anymore
I cant believe I'm doing this on our 10th anniversary. I've tried to to make it work but, you and I both know things have been falling apart for a while now. We've been through a lot together. I just think that all these years have caused damage beyond repair. I'll always love you and cherish the time we spent together, but I've out grown you. I just need something new.

Please don't look at me like that.
Maybe we can get together for a camp-out sometime.

a little bit slow
Watch Ellie's amazing escape from the bathtub... and how long it takes me to process it.
(P.S. I often tell Luke his life would be boring without me. He agrees. This is why.)

"It was... It was... SOAP"
I've been keeping my resolution to blog less and organize more. This past month I've been cleaning my house like a crankster. (Crankster: slang for meth addict, for those who aren't familiar) As a reward I've come across some childhood gems, some of which I will be posting for posterity.
We each took our pillow and blanket and hid in our closet, watching through a crack for hours, waiting for the moment when she would find our letter, fall to her knees and burst into tears of regret. We planned to live in our closet and sneak out "every other day" to get the food they'd leave for us. It was brilliant.
I found this letter that I had written my Mom when I was little. I'm so glad she saved it. She had sent my little brother and I to our room, and together we came up with this ingenious plan to make her sorry.

And not a moment too soon. We were already sick of each other and our new, dark and stuffy home. Disappointed our plan had failed but relieved to be out, I was baffled at how, after reading our well planned letter, she wasn't in hysterics searching the neighborhood for us.
As I read this letter it made me laugh and recall fond memories of my little brother and our childhood. When I showed it to Luke he thought it was funny at first, but then said,
"That's kinda sad."
"What, you never tried to run away from home?"
"No... never."
We had very different childhoods. But I wouldn't trade all the dysfunction of mine for any one of his summer-long family road trips, sweating in a hot, maroon Astro van.
